I Like To Add, Not Subtract

“Creativity is your best makeup skill, don’t be afraid to experiment”
– Pat McGrath –

I don’t believe in using makeup as a mask. And I don’t believe that makeup should subtract. It should simply add and simply enhance. A women’s natural beauty can be brought to light with a touch of blush, an easy lip or a demure brow. It’s not to say that I don’t believe in making a makeup statement – but the occasion must present itself!

Fashion

This is where I let my creativity run wild! Whether for an editorial campaign or brand shoot I pride myself in keeping up to date with the latest in makeup trends but also just having fun and creating.

Personal

Whether it is for your work “do,” a matric farewell or just a girl’s night out, why not treat yourself? Private clients can be quoted on a face-to-face basis (see what I did there).

Bridal

No bride is allowed to stress on her special day so let me ensure that your makeup is exactly how you envisaged for this once in a lifetime occasion! You can sip on champagne and I’ll do the rest.

      I See Things Differently

“Great things are not done by impulse, but a series of small things brought together”
      – Vincent Van Gogh –

My journey in styling started with fashion. I seemed to be able to look at people, clothing, surroundings, anything really and somehow see things differently. I loved the idea that by simply adding a small extra element you could transform anything. In its simplest form I love to put things together, and so fashion organically led to art direction. This idea stretches from dressing women and men, to designing bespoke handmade accessories, all the way to curating the perfect shot for all different types of clients. Seeing things differently paired with being a perfectionist ultimately led me to being creative across so many different fields.

      Fashion Styling

What is fashion to you? To me, it is subjectivity personified! Merging subjectivity with client brief can be a challenge, however it is one I thrive on and love!

      About

      Sarah to Sarah Ann Styles

My journey is one of a Marketing Manager in London to finding myself back in Johannesburg 10 years later living my passion.

I am a perfectionist. In every sense of the word. I absolutely love to curate and create beautiful imagery. Whether it is designing bespoke accessories, on set doing makeup, or curating content for social media – I am most happy when being creative. I pride myself in putting my heart and soul into every piece of work I produce. And this is where I believe my strength lies; in my ability to mesh my perfectionist nature with a passionate eye for creating something beautiful. Styling has always come naturally to me and my love for fashion grew from a hobby to a business when I delved into online retail. From there, my personal styling client base grew and naturally, with the experience gained, corporate clients followed. I further extended my skill set by studying makeup artistry at The Glauca Rossi School of Make Up in Soho, London. The next step was to create a space to showcase all my loves… so welcome to it!

My SAS sunglass chain journey came about simply from not being able to find what I was looking for and thinking — “I’m pretty sure I can make that!” – and so I did!
